 I personally have never liked when programs keep a 'Recently X' list for
 me, a solution to this might be to allow for plugin actions to show up in
 the docklet menu and then write a small mru plugin for buddies, or even
 just a quick-im plugin with a configurable list of buddies.

 That being said I don't have anything strongly against the idea of putting
 an mru list in the New Message window.

 I definitely don't like the idea of moving the current New Message
 behavior to an Other... field and I don't believe GTK+ allows us to have a
 menu item be both clickable and have a submenu.
