Comment:

 I'm going to be a bit bold here and close this as wontfix. I think it
 violates most users' expectations to paste data into an application and
 have it loose formatting needlessly. That said, I recognize that we a
 significant paste formatting bug, but I don't think we should have Paste
 as Text be the default in Pidgin when it's not the default in any other
 application that supports formatting.
