 Gaim 2 beta 4 has introduced the new global budyicon
 selector.

 It is nice to have, but it bugs me that I can't hide
 it, when I don't need to change my icon (which I don't
 do very often).

 I suppose having a specific toolbar, that can the be
 hidden from a View menu, containing the icon selector
 and an input field. The input field could then be used
 for changing you name (globally)
