 I did compile, like a good developer should, with --enable-debug. I'll
 turn it off and recompile with slp.c:958 uncommented again and see what
 happens.

 Were both with & without mcheck meant to be the same? Either way, I don't
 think they're relevant as I have glib 2.8.6, and I believe g_slice is new
 to glib 2.10.x
