 If those people who "need" it can't explain why they "need" it or what it
 makes "easier" other than to point out places in pidgin that still need
 abstraction work then it isn't going to happen. Even if those things are
 shown the likelihood of it happening isn't high unless the benefits are
 enormous because the cost of the preference will not be small.

 So really, if you think you want the old protocol icons back *come up with
 a good reason why* and we will be happy to listen.
