 This appears to have been implemented in beta7.  I'd argue to revert to
 the old behavior (no likification) because (1) it is visually distracting
 to have the bright blue links sprinkled throughout the conversation, but
 more importantly, (2) the linkified text is seldom, if ever, a valid email
 address for the person it is associated with.

 Further, I contend that if linkification is desired, it should be in a
 plugin.
