 Did some experimenting with different configure flags. Got pidgin to
 compile and run cleanly (haven't tested it too much, but I was able to
 successfully send an IM to a Google Talk user, and all of my preferences,
 buddy list, and saved status messages from beta6 migrated over without a
 problem).

 These are the compile options I used:

 --prefix=/usr/opt --disable-gstreamer --enable-nss=no

 Pidgin now works fine for me. I'm going to go back and recompile to try to
 figure out whether gstreamer or nss is the offender, but I suspect it's
 gstreamer. (In which case this may just be a duplicate of ticket # 67).
 Then again my original backtrace had nss showing up a lot which is why I
 thought to try disabling it.
