 Is it possible to offer a reduced footprint/skin for the client and
 message windows? Both currently takes up more space than the earlier
 versions of Gaim, even when optional menus etc, are turned off.

 For example, the chat window duplicates the name of the buddy you are
 talking to in both the tab and the grey bar beneath it which uses up
 screen space unecessarily. The icons used to indicate buddy status are
 also rather large - possibly offering the option of custom sets of icons
 (and hence people could choose smaller ones if that's what they prefered)
 would help reduce footprint (IIRC JAJC supported this about 5 years ago).
 The rationale is that many people have limited screen space and would
 appreciate a minimalist footprint.
