 What makes you think it isn't working?

 The first argument to AC_ARG_ENABLE is what determines the option. It
 specifies 'nm', which means `--enable-nm`. I don't think that anything is
 wrong.

 `enable_libnm` is just a variable used in the configure script and your
 patch would break the script since it's used in other places that you
 didn't change.
