 I fail to see how this is useful in a private conversation.  I don't have
 any reason to tab complete a person's name when I am sending them a
 private message, because the simple act of sending them a private message
 means I want their attention (who else could I be talking to?)  Likewise,
 having it alert you when your name is said doesn't seem warranted, since
 I'd want to be notified simply of the fact the person sent a message to
 me.  If you are trying for a higher level of urgency, perhaps there is
 some justification for nudge support to make the window freak out more
 than usual, but I don't see how the usage conventions you've listed make
 sense in private conversation.

 If you want these things, I think they could be provided via a plugin, but
 they don't seem justifiable in Pidgin to me.
