 you should consider making the shorter taskbar optional, and having an
 option in the prefs to toggle between the full bar and the shortened bar.
 the short bar makes some options less convenient and i can't see if i have
 my text bolded without clicking, for example. there are benefits to having
 it both ways, so why not have an option to choose?
