#2435: Changing alias attaches status to alias
--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: AlanDeSmet | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: minor
Component: pidgin (gtk) | Version: 2.0.1
 Keywords: | Pending: 0
--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------
Summary: If I want to change someone's alias by selecting their name in
the Buddy List and hitting F2, their current status (if present) is
 appended to their alias.

 I'm using Pidgin 2.0.1 on CentOS Linux 4.5 (I believe it's a Red Hat
 Enterprise rebuild).

In my Buddy List, I see my buddies' status right below their name in a
 greyed out color.

 To reproduce:

 1. Select a buddy with a status. Turning on Buddies > Show Offline
Buddies give me a bunch. For the sake of example, the buddy's name is
 "Alan De Smet"

 2. Right click on the buddy and select Alias... (hitting F2 has the same
 result)

 3. Observe that the buddy's alias can be changed, but it now reads "Alan
 De Smet[]Offline ". Note that "[]" is a single character of "00" of "0A"
in a box, apparently representing the linefeed character.

 4. If you leave the erroneous name, the alias is now two lines long, with
the second line being "Offline", below which is the status.

Expected behavior: the editable field would only say "Alan De Smet".
