 Originally I reported this problem into AdiumX trac
 (http://trac.adiumx.com/ticket/6128) but it seems the problem is in fact
 in libpurple. I also noticed a ticket here (#507) which seems to refer to
 the same problem but has now expired. The logs that adium gives are
 available on the adium site ticket, but I wonder if there would any way
 for me to speed this up since it is really annoying as I have quite a few
 friends that can only use web messenger from work?
