 I have managed to get it working by getting rid of stunnel and configuring
 ejabberd to listen on port 443.

 I guess I don't understand fully how stunnel works. I have assumed it
 creates SSL connection on listening port 443 - where I'm connecting to
 with Jabber using SSL. And then stunnel forwards my connection to port
 5222 with unencrypted line (switching stunnel to 5223 makes every client
 unable to connect).

 I still think it's some kind of a bug when it comes to force old ssl. I'll
 try to test it at home where I can try connecting to 5223 directly.
