#2483: Offline Messaging Problems Part 2
--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------

You closed my ticket before despite being wrong, so here it is again:

"I can't message people on AIM and MSN who are appearing offline, even
though they IM me first. Pidgin just saves all the messages as pounce even
though the person is there talking with me. Please fix this."

You stated in your response that MSN doesn't support offline messaging,
and that is WRONG. Both MSN and AIM support offline messaging. I assume
you use offline emulation because you can't use the IM client servers the
way the real clients do to leave offline messages. But even if emulation
is turned on, we should be able to converse with people _who are currently
IM'ing us_ even though they _appear_ offline. So try to get Pidgin to know
the difference between someone who's really offline and someone who only
appears as such, because when somebody who is appearing offline IM's me, I
have to sign out of Pidgin and log on to the real IM client to talk to
them, and that is just dumb.
