Comment (by johnmoody):

Utilizes the same buddy selection style as the 'Add buddy pounce' dialog
but with a new filter method
 'pidgin_screenname_autocomplete_online_only_filter' so the buddy selection
only shows on-line buddies. I haven't looked at removing buddies
 currently in the conference.

This raises the question, do all protocols support a conference style
function? If so, should we allow cross-protocol conferences? Do we have
a flag within the protocol account that we can check for conference
support and only show users currently logged onto a protocol that does
 support conferences?

The new Invite dialog box now has three fields, the first defaulting to
the protocol of the current conference. I have greyed-out this account
dropdown box but I haven't limited the buddies to just this protocol, in
the Utopian hope that we can one day support cross-protocol conferences.

The testing I have done shows you can select an MSN buddy, while in a
Yahoo conference, but the attempt appears to be ignored. Not sure if this
is due to being a cross-protocol request (I don't think so) or more likely
that MSN doesn't support the conference style chat.
