 Pidgin has still not updated the icons for buddies on the installation at
 work.

 At home I noticed this: I use guifications with a theme which shows the
 buddy icon. While the guification window shows a buddy icon, pidgin does
 not for the same buddy.

 So "I think the existing installation of Pidgin updates the icons
 correctly." is wrong!
