 Strangely enough, I can't DNS-resolve login.oscar.aol.com from the command
 line (Windows XP), but Trillian does connect just fine while Pidgin 2.1
 does not.  At times it would connect and immediately disconnect, but this
 morning it won't even make an initial connection.  Both are using the same
 server and port, and neither is using a proxy.

 A friend in the same office with the same network settings is connecting
 fine on 2.0.2.

 I also completely disabled my software firewall to no effect.

 Pidgin is specifically displaying

 <user> disconnected: Could not connect to authentication server:
 Error resolving login.oscar.aol.com: 11004
