 I am almost certainly going to revert this before release. In a future
 version, though, I'd like to  restore the idea, but do it better.

 The problem right now is that the code truncates everything, regardless of
 how much space it actually has. While "Jen's Roommate" is definitely
 better than "Jen's," "Jen'..." is probably worse than both.

 A smarter implementation of organic truncation would be nice, that took
 into account how much space the label has, and then using knowledge that
 this text is probably a name, truncate to maximize readability and
 usefulness.

 I'll keep this ticket open until I revert the truncation.
