 I changed the name of one of my buddy groups, and after completion I
 received a pop-up for almost every buddy in the group saying something
 along the lines of 'buddy list name change rejected by (buddy name).  At
 first nothing seemed different, but several hours later i got back on my
 computer and noticed that my buddy list was near empty.  I then turned on
 the 'show off line buddies' option and realized that almost every single
 buddy from that group was no longer on my buddy list at all.
