 I completely agree, I was just thinking about this earlier.  I relied
 pretty much entirely on the changing of color, and I can't really see a
 logical reason to remove it.  I mean, if it were something that inhibited
 the usability of the window or had to be removed to pave way for upgrades,
 I could understand that.  But I can't really understand why its removal is
 an improvement.  It definitely should be re-instated.
