 Currently, outgoing messages show your email address (login name). Here's
 a conversation with oneself:

 {{{
 (8:11:11 PM) msimprpl at example.com: test
 (8:11:11 PM) msimprpl: test
 }}}

 First IM is outgoing, second is incoming. Both messages should have the
 same name. Display the username instead of the email address.

 MSN already does something like this, so it shouldn't require changing the
 libpurple core.
