 I confirm the same issue in Mandriva Linux Cooker. Perhaps it's a GTK+
 2.11-specific issue? I believe Gutsy is also on GTK+ 2.11. You may wish to
 test with a distro that has GTK+ 2.11.

 No manual changes to treeview spacing settings here, either.

 Whenever the wrong tooltip is displayed, it's always the tooltip for the
 entry above one further up in the list (so if your list goes Andrew, Bob,
 Charles, then when you highlight Bob, you may get Andrew's tooltip  or
 Bob's, but never Charles'). I don't know if that helps.
