 efa, this is because Pidgin does not implement direct file transfers so
 most downloads usually go at 3kb/s or slower. Instead of the maximum that
 the Windows Live Messenger client allows for. The Pidgin developers have
 said they do not have enough time to implement this feature at the moment,
 instead waiting for someone with enough interest to come along and
 implement it. We could be waiting a long time for this important feature.
