 Weird.

 The only thing that I can suggest trying is reinstalling both Pidgin and
 the GTK+ runtime (there's a standalone installer
 [http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pidgin/gtk-runtime-2.12.1-rev-b.exe
 here])  (make sure that no GTK+ applications are running when you do
 this).
