 Yes, as I said before and as you reply, doing so brings new problems
 because all the protocols are managed in the same windows. Tabling
 protocols could be a solution, but I know that a lot of people are used to
 having all their contacts in the same list organized by groups and not by
 protocol.

 Finally, as I also said, I'm new to the linux world and I guess I've got
 to get used to the way some programs work.

 By the way, I reported a bug about the nickname also. In version 2.3.0
 when trying to edit nickname the current nickname is the one of the first
 contact in the buddy list, so now there is no way to know how other people
 see you as.
