 I just upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 and received Pidgin 2.2.1 as part of the
 deal. I am now unable to make the buddy list as narrow as I would like.
 It's about 4.25 inches wide on a 1680x1050 20" widescreen monitor. There
 is a lot of white space showing that should allow me to make it more
 narrow without introducing a horizontal scroll bar. See attached image.
