 I just encountered a problem resizing the buddy list
 (http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4248) which was apparently due to a
 defect in the Extended Preferences plugin. The only reason I installed
 that plugin was to get the "Hide buddy list at startup" feature.

 This seems like a fairly basic preference. I'd like to request it be added
 to the core Pidgin preferences. It was tiresome to have to continually
 click the Pidgin toolbar icon to hide the buddy list every time I logged
 in.
