 1. Click Buddies
 2. Select New Instant Message
 3. Enter a screen name that is not on your buddy list
 4. Left click on the screen name in the instant message window just above
 the conversation text box
 *. Pidgin crashes indefinitely (on my machine; tested on multiple AOL/AIM
 accounts with different destination screen names)
