Comment:

 It looks like your "Report idle time" setting is messed up, oddly enough.

 Try renaming your `prefs.xml` (see [wiki:"Using
 Pidgin#Whereismy.purpledirectory" the FAQ] for where to find this) to
 something else while pidgin isn't running to reset it to the default
 values.
