Comment:

 It is pretty unlikely to be at all related to the 2.3.0 version as there
 really haven't been any changes to the smiley theme code.

 There isn't enough information here to guess what might be happening -
 what exactly doesn't work about it?

 Without a copy of the smiley theme, there isn't any way to try to recreate
 this.
