 Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, this isn't a bug.

 From the client's perspective, anyone who was online at the time your
 account connects effectively signs on at that time.

 There used to be a feature in guifications to delay notifications after an
 account connection, but I don't see it anymore.
