If reference to the TODO comment added in the commit, if NLA does notice
the standby, confirmed with several tests, it doesn't tell us the network
is down until after we've processed the APMRESUMESUSPEND. This may be
Pidgin idle delaying the response to the NLA messages, or it may be a
message priority bug in the NLA service, or who knows what. So, we can't
rely on anything NLA related until it gets a few cycles, hence the
purple_timeout. The deciding factor for whether NLA is involved or not is
based on the NIC being used and the computer's power management settings,
and I can't determine any sane method to figure out it's reaction until
after the fact.
Once I get home and compile, I'll let you know if I see any problems with
the other changes, but they all seem correct. And no, thank you!
