 This may not be limited to AIM disconnects, however, whenever I get an AIM
 disconnect, Pidgin breaks the computer out of power-saving mode for my
 monitor and never allows it to go back into the power save mode.

 So if it disconnects in the middle of the night, the monitor is left
 active for hours and is on when I wake up.
