 From what I've learned, Windows gadgets are basically tiny web pages, so a
 developer (possibly me if nobody else is interested) takes an existing web
 interface of Pidgin (http://www.thirdmartini.com/index.php/WebPidgin), a
 gadget should be pretty easy to make.
