 Okay, this is weird.  I tried other GTK+ apps, and they all worked.  Then
 I tried pidgin, calling it from the command line.  It worked.  Then I
 rebooted, and pidgin attempted to autostart, and then crashed.  When I ran
 it again from the command line, it worked.  I then saved my KDE session
 and rebooted.  Pidgin autostarted.  The old autostart was to Pidgin 2.0.0,
 but it was in the same place (/usr/local/bin) and called the same thing as
 the new version.  Go figure.  It is working now, so I guess this thread
 can be closed.
