 You should not need to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to anything at all when you
 have applied this patch. It's possible you have some things linked to
 different libraries from when you did have LD_LIBRARY_PATH set.

 You should a) unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH, b) make clean to ensure you have a
 clean build, c) re-run ./configure and make.
