 If you add a buddy in Pidgin via XMPP (tested in Google Talk), you get an
 "unauthorized" buddy in your buddy list. But this "unauthorized" buddy
 does not appear in the buddy lists of other Pidgin installations connected
 to the same account (i.e. authorization requests are not synchronized
 across pidgin installations).

 Unauthorized buddies added via Pidgin appear correctly in Exodus, so the
 problem appears to be in Pidgin not receiving or processing information
 from the server.
