 If I type /nick NewNickname, it will say that I changed my nick, but next
 to the messages I post it still says my default nickname. The users list
 doesn't change, either.

 This makes it hard to know what your nickname is.

 Steps to Reproduce:
 1. Create an IRC account in Pidgin.
 2. Join a channel.
 3. Type /nick AnyNick
