 I would like the current "Show Offline Buddies" split into two menu items.

 1) Show Offline Buddies: Shows all buddies for online contacts.  Doesn't
 show contacts that aren't online.

 2) Show Offline Contacts: Shows all contacts and buddies.

 It would make managing contacts a lot easier.  You could tell if you've
 already added an account for that contact, reorganise default buddy
 preference, know which protocols the contact has access to [1][2].

 Currently the only ways to get this information is to switch on "Show
 Offline Buddies", get the information, and turn it off again.  Or start a
 conversation and check the sendto menu.

 Would be nice if the buddy pane/list tooltip and the sendto menu agreed on
 how many buddies the contact has.

 [1] while it may be the case that it shouldn't matter which protocol is
 being used by pidgin, if the other user is using official clients then the
 experience will be quite different for them depending on the protocol
 chosen

 [2] eg You want them to log into an account they currently are not logged
 into because you're about to start the official client to do vv.
