 Pidgin doesn't make a start menu folder, it just makes a shortcut to the
 program itself. Have you checked for that? Try typing pidgin in your
 search bar in the start menu and see if it comes up, it's probably at the
 top with all the program shortcuts (which I don't understand why they are
 at the top instead of at the bottom like in previous Windows's).
