 One thing is very confusing for new Pidgin users.

 Imagine someone tells you that there is a nice messenger. You download it,
 register an account and add your buddy. But no buddy will be shown in
 buddylist. Isn`t this a bit confusing thought? I think it is.

 That`s why I suggest to enable 'show offline buddys' by default. Later
 when the user explores Pidgin a bit more he will find the way not to show
 offline buddys if he want this option. But this should be really only an
 option, it`s good for people will very much buddys. But for people how
 have not that much buddys this feature isn`t useful.
