Comment:

 This backtrace isn't really any use--there's no indication here what in
 our code is causing the problem.  Did you install Pidgin from ports, and
 if so, is Pidgin being stripped when it's installed?  If Pidgin is being
 stripped when it's installed, you need to rebuild and install without
 stripping, then get another backtrace.
