 While I don't have an answer for you, I know I was having similar issues
 with Yahoo messenger.  I leave my computer on at all times, and after a
 couple of days, the messenger chomps away at memory (both Pidgin AND
 Yahoo).  I have 1 MSN, a yahoo, an aim, google, and an ICQ on Pidgin, and
 after 4 days of being on, it went from 26MB to 370MB!  I could watch it go
 up about 1MB every hour or two at first, however I was at work for a
 couple of days, and when I got back, whammo!  My bet is it is probably
 still associated with Yahoo, but I can't be sure.  I'm going to try
 disabling the yahoo account for a couple of days and see if it makes a
 difference.
