 Your premise here is wrong, so the rest of your argument is moot.

 We already know lots of people want these features. Having people whine at
 us about something we already know isn't interesting.

 Throwing me enough money to take time off my job would be interesting (I'm
 not seriously asking for that, but trying to make a point). Stepping up
 and making progress on these features to generate some momentum would be
 interesting.
