Comment:

 It shouldn't. If you were to double-check, I'd bet the old libraries were
 in $PREFIX/lib/pidgin/libmsn.so, for instance. These were left behind from
 when we were doing Subversion on pidgin.im. People upgrading from beta6
 will have completely clean lib/pidgin directories.
