 It does not work all the time for me either. When Pidgin is not working I
 can use the official MSN(Live) messenger client with no issues. When
 Pidgin decides to stop working for MSN I can log in and it seems to set my
 status but will say that all MSN buddies are offline when I try to send
 them a message even if they show as online in my buddy list.
