 Yes!! I can finally use Pidgin correctly now. Apparently I didn't have a
 server-side contact list but my list was saved locally in Miranda and I
 found an option to enable the server-side list and also a button to
 synchronize my local list with the server list. After this I can see all
 my buddies in Pidgin and there is no error. I didn't try adding a new
 buddy in Pidgin though, I've had enough fun for today :)
