Comment:

 This is on GNOME on Foresight Linux 1.3.1 - i have attached two dialogs -
 the first is Pidgin the second is the totem dialog where you simply can
 paste an URL in. Maybe one can combine both - as an XMPP URL makes it
 simpler - Right now Pidgin can handle those URLs from a browser (I think
 with some additional tool?) - But still copy and paste should work, too.
