Comment:

 This isn't new for 2.0.2 and isn't actually a Pidgin bug (and
 unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a whole  lot we can do about
 it).

 A Google search for "system tray icon not appearing at startup" returns a
 number of returns results (like [http://www.tech-pro.net/howto_013.html
 this]) indicating that this is a common problem and the consensus is that
 it is a Windows bug of some variety.
